On Saturday night my friend down the street invited us to come down for their bbq and fireworks. They had a HUGE display! Cole loved it since we were so close, and Emmy was mesmerized! My mom came and stayed the weekend with me so she got to enjoy watching their faces! Laura and Estella joined us at the bbq, and TelTel wasnt so sure about the fireworks. SHe peeked over Lauras shoulder to watch!

And Shes OFF!!
Emmy just turned 6 months this week and is officially on the move!Last month she was rolling to where she wanted to be, and now shes army crawling. She loves shoes and cords! When Cole is playing wii, she crawls over the the front of the tv to get the cord. Today she had already gone to the cord 4 times, and I had put her back in the middle of the rug. The 5th time I got the camera to capture her crawling. You can see when I say "no no", she looks at me and smiles and goes right for it!

Parade Day!

This morning we got up extra early to head out with friends to the parade in Ofallon. For such a small town, its a large parade. We got our spots and were ready for action! GOd bless Coles heart. He loves parades, and literally, waves the entire time to all of the people in the parade. He has done this every year. Its the sweetest thing. Emmy enjoyed watching the parade too until she got to tired and went to sleep. Atleast we got a few "first parade photos" before that happened! We had a great time with Laura and Michael, and it was Estellas first parade too! She wanted the balloons on the float so bad! Happy 4th of July weekend!

Shout Out!

SO, my friend Summer from Texas is very talented! A few years back she started an "etsy" type store online called Little Mess Pot, which I loved the name of. I never got to buy things because I had a boy, and no girl in sight. Well, she got pregnant a few months before me this time, and she had twins. As you can imagine, there was no time to maintain making things with twin babies and a 2 year old. But when Emmy was born she made some of the cutest things. She has been able to wear the cute onsie now that she is bigger. I also loved a pillowcase dress that I had seen on her blog and she graciously made Emmy one. We received it this week. Today I went to lunch with friends and she wore it! She looked SOOOO cute! I wanted to post the two outfits shes worn so far. She makes all kinds of cute stuff. A link to her blog is on mine. The Chaplins. She doesnt have a lot of time, but she is willing to make things here and there for purchase so if you have a girl or need to buy for one....shes awesome and its better than giving the money to a stranger!

His Biggest Fan!
Emmy thinks that Cole is the coolest thing ever! She stares at him endlessly and smiles at him even when hes not looking at her. He can make her laugh (which sounds like a cry)more than anyone. I must say for the record, Cole is obsessed with her too! Every song he seems all day he puts her name in. He plays with her all the time. I caught a few clips of him playing with her yesterday. DOnt worry, he is always this rough with her and she loves it! If it were our first kid we would probably run to their aid, but poor Emmy just gets man handled!

Citygarden
I had seen some pictures a friend posted of this great fountain/sculpture/garden park. I knew that Cole would love it so some friends from my old work (and a few from my new) packed up the kids and coolers and headed to the city to play. We could not have asked for a more beautiful day! It was 83 degrees and sunny! The kids played for about 3 hours! The citygarden has lots of fountains to run through, wade pools to go in and sculptures to climb on! Cole loved running through the fountains! Emmy loved this tiny incline that had a tiny amount of water flowing for her to lay on her belly and splash in!It is a beautiful place in the middle of a bustling city!

Six Months! What?

I cannot believe that half a year has passed since I delivered sweet baby Emmy. She has been the biggest blessing to our family, and it seems unreal that we have enjoyed her this long already! We say that Emmy is being kind to us now because she was a HARD baby the first 6 weeks. Now people tell us "that she has a permanent smile." Truly, she really is always happy unless something is wrong like a diaper change, owie, hungry or tired. She is just a sweet as pie!
Here are some 6 month updates.
She is now eating baby food and loves it! I have been making her baby food so far since I am off of work. It is actually just as easy to make and I enjoy it. She will be our eater! Right now squash and green beans are her favorite. She loves bananas too! She is taking both breastmilk and formula. I took a weekend trip to Nashville for 3 days, and although I pumped, something changed so I am able to nurse every other feeding now. She doesnt care either way. Another part of her easy going personality!
She can get to whatever she wants now by pulling herself in an army crawl manner and rolling. She is obsessed with shoes, so that is usually her mission to get to!
SHe just discovered Hank and loves to roll to him and play with his paws.
She SQUEALS very loud in excitement! Her favorite is the jumperoo right now!
I put her 6 month sticker on her butt because we usually see her from behind now that she is pretty mobile!
