Egyptian Men
On Friday night, Dans cousin Bob had a Dans cousin Ellens 50th bday party! IT was insanely extravagant! His company is building a building in Clatyton that has not yet been completed, but he renovated one floor to have for the party. It was "ancient" egyptian themed. There were belly dancers, shirtless egyptian dressed men, insanely good food and lots of good entertainment. THere was no detail left out. Dan was on duty so he could not go, so I squeezed in to a cocatail dress (ha ha I know)and went with his sister and parents. I couldnt do much dancing or anything for that matter, but it was so fun to see, and catch up with lots of dans family who I hadnt seent his past 9 months! I heard a lot of "whoa, shes gonna pop!" comments as I passed by men!
The neatest part of the night was when Bob presented ELlen with her gifts. Ellen has some unresolved medical issues that have required a lot of attention and medical thought and discussion, so he used this to honor her. He unveiled what will be the new Ellen C CLark sculpture park right across from SLU hospital downtown, as well as Ellens Hope House at Washington University. This will be built by the worlds top leading sculptor Mia (sp) Lin. She spoke to Ellen over the monitors they had set up that night of the party. It will be a refuge type house for patients or families who need a place to stay when having medical treatments and testing done at Washington University.
